I love wearing black and actually it’s become the unofficial uniform for hair stylists and make-up artists. Think the artists at the MAC store. Anyway, it really works for me and I like the look.

So, one of my many and favorite jobs is doing hair and/or make-up for Designer’s Look Books. I have been working with gown and dress designer Dalia MacPhee for a few years and just finished her fall 2012 Look Book. For Dalia, I usually do hair and often work with one of my favorite make-up artists (who I met on a Dalia shoot) Leibi Carias. I was excited to see Leibi because I missed the last shoot. We arrived at the same time to find the electricity was out in the building we were shooting in and we would have to climb 11 floors to the photographer’s loft!! As the models sprinted past us, Leibi and I slowly made our way up the 11 stories trying to cheer each other on. Needless to say I was huffing and puffing when I got to the 11th floor….. We quickly recovered, though, and had a fun shoot. Here’s a few pics… Stay tuned for Dalia’s Fall Look Book, viewable on her site…

So bright colors are still trending and one of my favorite colors this summer is Orange. Although I am really partial to black… for summer orange just adds a fresh look. It even goes really nice with black as you can see by the orange duster Dawn Richard modeled in Issue 13 of Regard Magazine. So, I’ve been working on building Regard Magazine with my partner in crime, photographer, Dimitry Loiseau for the last 2 years and it’s been a fantastic experience. We are so thankful to all the wonderful celebrities we feature and people we work with for their support and enthusiasm. Because we do everything for the magazine, Dimitry has become a fantastic stylist as he styles almost all of the editorials for the magazine. This has turned into many requests for red carpet styling and I wanted to show a few of his looks…..
