The new issue of RegardMag.com April/May 2013 is here and since I do all of the hair and makeup for each issue I wanted to show of the behind the scenes of me in action.  We had a great time working with all the celebs for this issue. So, part 1 of the season 2 reunion show of Basket Ball Wives LA aired last week and part 2 will air this Monday.  I did Miss Gloria for last year’s reunion and was happy to hook her up again for this year’s reunion. She wore a white leather and chiffon dress so we felt like the make-up should be lots of lashes and eyeliner with a dark dramatic lip and a side swept wavy look for her hair. So, one of my many and favorite jobs is doing hair and/or make-up for Designer’s Look Books.  I have been working with gown and dress designer Dalia MacPhee for a few years and just finished her fall 2012 Look Book. For Dalia, I usually do hair and often work with one of my favorite make-up artists (who I met on a Dalia shoot) Leibi Carias. I was excited to see Leibi because I missed the last shoot. We arrived at the same time to find the electricity was out in the building we were shooting in and we would have to climb 11 floors to the photographer’s loft!! As the models sprinted past us, Leibi and I slowly made our way up the 11 stories trying to cheer each other on. Needless to say I was huffing and puffing when I got to the 11th floor…..  We quickly recovered, though, and had a fun shoot.  Here’s a few pics… Stay tuned for Dalia’s Fall Look Book, viewable on her site…

I love doing photoshoots and luckily I do a lot of them given that we put out a magazine (RegardMag.com) every 60 days.  I also get to do shoots for some of my celeb clients for magazines, or interviews so I was happy to be a part of an Elle Magazine shoot last week at the gorgeous Milk Studios. Because I had a photography rental studio for 10 years, I am always fascinated and have a love for studio or warehouse spaces. It’s been 3 years since I closed my studio and I would love to put together another studio space. It’s definitely on my to-do list!

The Milk Studios here in LA are designed with my favorite building materials….. lots of concrete and stainless steel!! Beautiful concrete floors, huge stainless steel doors give this minimalist space a grand feeling. So here are a few images of the studio and a sneak peak of me in action at the end. By the way, the shoot was fantastic and the feature should be in the September issue of Elle.

The New Issue 11 of Regard Magazine featuring Camille Grammer of RHOBH

The new issue 11 of Regard Magazine is here  featuring Camille Grammer, one of the stars of Bravo’s, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Designer, Oday Shakar, brought some amazing designs as you can see by the stunning editorial. The amazing jewelry was provided by Black, Starr & Frost and I must say it was dazzling. We all had a fabulous time shooting on location and you can get to know more about Camille when you check out her interview. As always, I did Camille’s hair and make-up and Dimitry did the photography.  Thanks to Oday Shakar, and Black, Star and Frost for a fantastic shoot!!
